Yeah, they suck BAD. My mailman is a jerk, too.
I’ve filed yet another complaint. So, aside from the complaint I just filed, my complaints include theft of property (believe it or not, he stole my beatup and battered US flag that was rusted into the mount– I complained, and the next day it was back, rolled up neatly, on the side of my house), harrassing my pets (knocking on the glass to make my cat run from the door– we saw it from the kitchen), and improper delivery procedures (received first and last notice on Jan 16th to pickup Christmas gift containing food items sent on Dec 5). He makes us go to the post office for every single priority mail package we get– no matter how small.
I’m sick of these jerks. I’m about ready to remove my mailbox from my door and put in a forwarding to my post office box.

The postal service is a waste of space. I mailed a package to be delivered in the same town, less than three miles from home with signature confirmation. GONE, lost and not even an apology.
I mailed to another person out of town, the package is lost.
You try and claim on insurance and they keep saying that you haven’t waited long enough for them to investigate. Then when they do investigate they tell you what you know from the delivery confirmation status report which doesn’t help anyone.
I had important documents mailed EXPRESS NEXT DAY GUARANTEED and it took 6 days for the post office to deliver them and wasn’t even offer an apology. I HAD TO FAX COPIES TO THE ESCROW COMPANY.
My mailman has never learnt how to close the mail box, most of the time he doesn’t even both delivering mail. I mailed a card to myself and it took 6 weeks to arrive SIX WEEKS. I get a mail delivery once a week if I am lucky. Daren’t leave anything to be picked up in the mail bo because it might not be collected. The whole street rarely sees the mailman and if you complain then you are told you are ignorant.
The the inbred USPS worker. If you spent as much time actually working in your ‘jobs for life’ world then maybe stuff would be delivered.
We have switched all our package and important document services switched to FEDEX and UPS where it is safe and they insure the packages as part of the normal cost instead of gouging more money that they then make you jump through hoops if you have to make a claim!
It’s time to open the market to the competition and let this dinosaur finally die and make these workers actually work for a living!
I have sent very urgent documents to the Australian Embassy via USPS EXPRESS service. It took them 7 days to deliver the package and even with my reschedule they managed to deliver it on a date that Embassy is closed (which I mentioned that it would be closed) and the package is lost. I hate USPS so bad.

Ordered a graphics card off Walmart.com UPS gave the package to USPS to deliver. arrived with a broken box 4 days after latest expected date.
Today our unbeloved postman delivered my next door neighbor’s mail to me instead of my own. After slipping around the neighborhood on ice, I discovered *all* of our mail was delivered one house to the left. Every… last… letter…
He has also threatened (via a postal form) to stop delivering my mail because my 30 year old brick-encased mailbox is 1 inch below postal service “recommendations”. He also complained that my house number was not on the box itself (it’s in 6″ contrasting digits on the front of my house, 6 feet away – apparently Mr. Magoo has nothing on him).
On several occasions, when expecting a “next day delivery” package, we’ve *watched* him put a form in the box stating “Resident not home” in our box and drive off with our package – he doesn’t even look up. In one memorable case, my teenage daughter chased him down the street (he gunned his engine and escaped), with her returning in tears at having to wait another day after paying their outrageous next day delivery fees. And the capper is that the packages are *not* stashed at the mail station 4 blocks from our house, but at a different station 2 miles away.
Yes, I avoid the USPS like the plague they are, but occasionally we’re forced to suffer at their hands by unenlightened businesses. I can hardly wait until my health care is this “good”.
These f***wits all deserve to be fired. Incompetent sacks of shit that can’t handle anything properly.

The USPS has to hold the crown for horrible service right next to the DMV, and local building permit offices. What a joke. I sent a package to Peru, and the geniuses mailed it to BRAZIL. And there it has sat… for 16 days! So I called 800-275-8777 (USPS Customer Service), and their menu is obnoxious. It has no option for lost mail or package. It has no option to just talk to a human. So I had to spend 5 minutes finally winding my way through the tracking system (I had already tracked it to Brazil online) to finally get to a human. The first guy I talked to confirmed that it was destined for Peru, but was in Brazil. I asked if that’s normal. He said he didn’t know… And nothing more. So, I asked if there was a way he could find out. He transferred me to an “agent”. Whatever that is. I had to give my tracking number for the 3rd time now. She (again) confirmed the destination and location of the package. I had to ask (again), is that normal. She replied no, we sent it to the wrong location. Sorry. Then asked if I wanted her to file a formal inquiry to try to get the package to the right place… No! I want you to let it rot in Brazil. Morons! Then, I had to give her all my info (name, address, phone number, and destination address). Well, I can’t find the destination address, since my wife actually addressed the package, and I can’t get ahold of her for another few hours. The “agent” replied that I will have to call back, and open ANOTHER claim, because she can’t save all the information that I already gave to her. Shouldn’t she already have this focking info from when I sent the damn package the first time?! And why can’t you open a complaint, and not actually initiate the inquiry until I call back? She said that she didn’t design the software. No kidding? You certainly sound like a programmer.
After I asked if she could make some notes about how dissatisfied I am with their services, she offered to document a complaint. YES! I jumped at this chance. Supposedly, someone’s going to call and ask me about the complaint. I’m not holding my breath.
I’m all about letting the USPS rot in to oblivion. They seem to be doing a pretty good job of that on their own. Don’t get me wrong … I don’t have an issue with individuals within the USPS … it’s the USPS in general that crawls under my skin. I make it a point now to do all my mailing (minimal) through private carriers. My most recent complaint is the iPhone that I sold on eBay and packaged up to send to Chile. It never arrived, nor can the USPS tell me anything about where it might be. I had to refund the eBay buyer his money and I’m left with nothing. This is irresponsible and bad for business. Continuing service like this will ensure the USPS sees it’s last day sooner than later.
Please do all you can to tell your friends and family to avoid the USPS. Let’s hit them where it hurts – in the pocketbook.
I ordered COD MW 2 from amazon, and never got it even though the tracking information claims it was delivered. After 3 weeks of playing grab ass with usps customer service, they decide there is nothing they can do. If i f!@# up at work i am at least punished for it, so usps needs to fix the problems it makes if it wants to call itself a business. Id really like to punch a postal worker right in the nose.
I sell online with ebay and paypal makes you create shipping labels for use with USPS. WHAT A SCAM! First off if the usps employee sees it says ebay on the shipping label they are already 5x more likely to break into the package. Second, they dont process the pre-paid postage correctly! I send priority mail 2-3 day service. The package gets shipped out, goes through the processing center and reaches the destination USPS office where it is rejected for inadequate shipping. IT ALREADY REACHED THE DESTINATION LOCAL OFFICE, WHY ARE YOU REJECTING THE LABEL NOW? So naturally it will take another 6 days to come back to the sender. What a wonderful waste of everything. Save the earth dont ship with USPS.
Oh yeah, they’re idiots alright!!! Just got my business’ change of address confirmation, they’ve decided to spellcheck my business name!!! Who spellchecks the name of a business!?!?!?!
Of course, after spending 20 minutes on the phone to get someone at their 800 number to actually do some work, I get this incompetent bitch named Shilo (her ID number is ZZE215)who claims to be a supervisor. She tells me I now have to take time off to stand in line at the post office to get the name of my business corrected in the address change! She wouldn’t transfer me to her supervisor, refused to give me the name and/or number, and refused to do anything more than “send a message to the next level” to call me back!
Funny, after googling the local USPS branch’s number, I had the lady who answered correct the business name, check to see when the mail was properly stopped and made the necessary changes to get my mail moving to our new business address! Huh!!! It didn’t seem too hard and I didn’t have to take time away from my day to do this.

I know someone that works for UPS and apparently he’s stolen a few packages containing cellphones and jewelry…He approaches his younger brother asking, “Hey, you want a new cellphone?” He replies, “Are you going to buy me one?” The thief replies, “No, I stole some packages with jewelry and cellphones. If not, I think I’m going to sell them.”
…fire the postman general!! i was one to have supported the usps in the past, but my in 4 months i have had negative experiences at my local post office, express mail, and first class mail. what’s the problem down there? i will make every effort to pay my bills on line, email and to send via fedex or ups.

I am waiting for medical equipment to arrive, it was sent via USPS priority mail from a company 60 miles from me, today is day 3 of non-delivery, UPS or Fed Ex would have had this delivered to me next day!
I can’t stand USPS, I will NEVER have any packages shipped by them, Fed Ex or UPS from now on, give me a break I should have driven to pick this package up myself, can’t wait for the failure of USPS, maybe then they will realize how pissed off their customers are!

Wow, I really like USPS service. I live in Alaska and every frickin vendor wants to ship things via FedEx or UPS which are both ridiculously expensive compared to Priority Mail, which almost always arrives within week. Plenty fast for me. And you can print labels at home! It all works for me. Yeah, what happened with your prints sucks. Sounds like a bad apple. Our delivery people are really nice.
Wow these people are so lazy!!!!!!! Online tracking said my package didn’t get delivered because no one was home. I saw mailman drop letters off but no package. Second time they do this. Then the office people try to avoid going to the back and look for your package

Usps sucks. I sold an iPhone 3gs worth $600!!! The person shipped it to Kuwait using usps. It never got there. It was stolen by someone inside the management. They said they need to investigate for 4 months. What kind of people would do that? They made people lose millions of dollars. I am glad i dont ship with the usps anymore. I use UPS. It’s way better than usps. Just an advice for everyone….don’t bother using usps.

USPS employees treat their customers like crap because they know they are a government agency. If they were a real business they would have been put out of business LONG AGO! USPS has always delivered our mail on time. We live in the San Fernando valley in California. What arrives on time is a different story. Just about everything that has been mailed to us in the last 2 years has been damaged in some form. Completely stupid of us for thinking that these were all coincidences, or due to a particular deliverer. We have since wised up and only use USPS if there is absolutely NO option. We pay extra so we can get the service we expected from USPS. Awesome that postage stamps cost more and more each year.
* CDs from Amazon crushed by truck? Check.
* Makeup from Sephora smashed and leaking onto our other mail? Check.
* Ceramic figurine packed tightly in a box twice as big as it, still bent nearly in half? Check.
* Clothing shipped from Hanes with holes in the package and permanent dirt and water stains on the fabric? Check.
* Envelope from the county court, open and missing contents? Check.
* Mail from bank for escrow overage refund check, MISSING CHECK?…. check.
* Rare item from Ebay missing and replaced with a heavy rock?… check.
* Birthday card with missing cash from generous grandmother who has very little money?… check.
* Legal documents in an official USPS document container, torn almost 3 inches on the side?… check.
* Returned check from home loan because it was torn and water damaged beyond recognition, resulting in a late fee? Check.
* BURNT PLASTIC (how in the hell?) on a small teddy bear and the box containing it mailed to my niece who is in CHOC hospital undergoing cancer treatment? Check.. (Insert gut wrenching nausea here).
USPS is the devil. Literally. We need to push for the supreme court ending the USPS first class monopoly on our mail boxes. Any regular business that operated like this would be liquidated by now.
I ordered a guitar from an American website (I live in the UK) and was told it would be shipped via express intl mail by the USPS.
They attempted to deliver this parcel at 5:47am this morning. I realise us Brits operate on a different timezone to our neighbours across the Atlantic, but I think it would be safe to assume that the majority of citizens are sleeping at this time.
Furthermore, there was no “Sorry you were out” notice, no details on when a second “attempt” would commence, no details on whether it is being held at my local post office; I have no idea where it is. I thought Royal Mail were bad, but you guys have it much worse.
Our health insurance company makes us use their mail order service to refill our prescriptions for medication that will need to be refilled on a regular bases. Who would be their mail service (if you can call them that)of choice, USPS It took over 2 weeks for my insulin order for the month to get here and it was expedited through the pharmacy processing department because it was our first order through them and I was nearly out. When the box arrived it had a huge hole in the side, I guess they misread the shipping label to read “From: your secret Santa?!?.” and 3 pens were broken (not at all an easy task) I have to wait 4 weeks before I can order any refills but with this service taking so long to deliver and being shorted 3 pens as it is. I’ll be long in to a sugar coma by the time I get what i need. I’m currently waiting on yet another package that should of arrived last week I have no idea where it is because the tracking is completely useless. It seems no one in the last 7 days is skilled enough to figure out how to scan the label. Most likely trying to send out text messages on their scanners. Is this where all the BK & McDonald rejects find employment? No work, good pay, health benefits and free gifts year round! Only job requirements are knowing how to sashay like you have all day and rolling your eyes as the equivalence of multi tasking. Where can I sign up? With all the people out of work today wanting jobs and willing to do them, flush the toilet already ! Wouldn’t be hard or take long at all to replace these POS with people much more job worthy, go ahead, we can obviously wait a day, LOL
Many of these people are uneducated. And it does not help taking your mailbox off,I have done that when I went on vacation.Some of these MORONS just throw it on your porch or try to put in between your door and frame.(and that is a violation of usps regulations)Why don’t they just put a sign in the front lawn that says these people are on vacation so rob their house. Fortunately I have good neigbors and we look out for each other.

USPS SUCKS! It is and it always will! I’m a hobbyist and buy some of my kits online. I do my best to shop selectively and make sure it never gets shipped USPS! Although as much as I choose a seller with a different shipping service, these seller’s fake the details only to find out they’ll ship USPS… anyway, that has nothing to do here in some sense…

I have sent a package with USPS with a tracking number. After a week, the guy emailed me asking where is his package. I searched the tracking number to find nothing on it. About another week later I got it back saying “It’s not at the address”. Then I sent it to the exact same address and it got there. F!@# USPS. Later on I sent a $130 money order. It never got there. I tracked it and nothing was on its records. I sent another and same exact thing. USPS should be out of business.

Yeah USPS SUCKS they are retards idiots they have cost me several thousands of dollars in sales of worms ,cause a worm or two gets outa the box they wrap the entire box up in plastic calling it hazards material , even though box is marked live animals live worms

I live in northern in, bought a cell phone from a store in Detroit less than a five hour drive, so farther package has gone from Detroit to Indianapolis (3 hours to the south) to cinncinatti and now back to Indy where it has left again!
I was in the hospital 1 yr. 3 mnths. my house was vacant no mail. When I got out I went to the post office notified them I want postal delivery again. I only received some of my mail called 3 times a week for 4 months they said my postal carrier knew to deliver my mail. Called today found out I have 4 carriers only 1 knew to deliver here, they finally told me they put me in the computer today.( I did not receive any mail today).
You can complain all you want. Government employees don’t get fired over these kinds of things. The more you complain, the more they just make YOUR mail service crappier. It’s a lose-lose situation. I try to avoid USPS as much as possible and go with FedEx and UPS if I can. The extra $5-$10 is worth it if you want to get important mail and packages on time and in good condition.

USPS is the worst carrier service, hands down. no one even comes close to being as poor and unreliable as they are. i am an attorney, and for a year, i was working a case that was being tried in missouri, but a lot of the evidence was in colorado. therefore, i would have my colleagues in denver overnight documents and other important trial materials to my house in missouri on a regular basis. usps overnight is supposed to have “tracking,” and it is also “guaranteed” to arrive by noon the next day. if your package does not arrive by noon, you are supposed to receive a “refund.” i used the service 4 times, and never had a package show up before noon. 2 of the times, they didn’t even come the next day – even though we paid for overnight express service. every time i sought a refund on the shipping, i was given the run-around until it either was no longer worth my time, or until i talked to someone saying that there were certain “conditions” that needed to be met in order to get the noon guarantee. however, those conditions are nowhere to be found for the consumers to be made aware of them.
recently, i have switched to UPS next day air by 10:30 am to ship all of my important items that absolutely need to be there by the next day. UPS has yet to fail me. my packages generally arrive at my door between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, and they are delivered by a courteous driver with a smile on his/her face. sure, the service is about twice as expensive, but in my experience, reliable carrier service that you can count on every single time is priceless. i would never use USPS again to ship a package. they haven’t had their act together for years now, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon.
Any positive experience – lots of negative people on this site. I guess that is the majority now days. How about this – how many mail packages or letters do you send or receive each year that do get to you in speedy time at a great price. You can’t tell me this happens every day, cause I sure have not experienced this. Yes, an occasionally mishap happens, but realllyyyy!! Of the zillions of letters and packages sent out, that is bound to happen. That is reality. Where else can you mail a letter for 44 cents from one part of the country to another? People will always complain about the price of the stamp, but these same people will throw $1.50 in a soda machine for one can of soda. Also, the government doesn’t pay Postal employees wages, no tax dollars go to employees. USPS actually puts money in a trust fund for the government to use as they see fit. You guys should be more informed before you open your mouths. It somehow sounds more mature and less kiddish.

You can’t send a first class letter anywhere for 44 cents with any private company of which I am aware. That is because the Post Office enjoys a federally legislated monopoly on local mail delivery. I’m certain that if any of the other major carriers enjoyed the same monopoly and protections, they would have lower prices for sending one ounce letters. Since, however, they are virtually forbidden from offering local mail delivery service, you cannot compare the services offered by the non-governmental carriers to those offered by a federally owned, established, and protected monopoly.
Additionally, the government does pay ALL postal employees because the USPS is a government owned, established, and protected organization. The USPS is an independent subsidiary of the Executive Branch (39 U.S.C. § 201). The Supreme Court has ruled that the USPS is a government entity by virtue of their immunity to legal action under the Sherman Antitrust Act. The Board of Governors of the USPS are all appointed by the President, and confirmed by the Senate. The Board of Governors select the Postmaster General, who then, as part of and in concert with the board, select the Deputy Postmaster General.
Maybe it is you who should become more informed. To return the insult that you kindly leveled against the many who have commented here: It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think that you are a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.
